Land and water transport

This division covers the transport of passengers and freight by road, rail, and water. It includes freight transport by rail networks, passenger rail services, and various types of freight transport by road, such as refrigerated and heavy haulage. It also includes transport of passengers of all types, including buses and taxis. Water transport activities include the operation of freight and passenger ferries. 

Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles

This division covers the sale of new and used goods to the general public, primarily for personal or household use. It includes sales in stores, stalls, and markets, as well as through mail orders, door-to-door sales, and vending machines. The goods sold range from personal computers to stationery, paint, and timber. Activities also include retail sales through commission agents and auction houses.

Wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles

This division covers all activities (except manufacture and rental) related to motor vehicles and motorcycles, including lorries and trucks, such as the wholesale and retail sale of new and second-hand vehicles, the repair and maintenance of vehicles, and the wholesale and retail sale of parts and accessories for motor vehicles and motorcycles. This division also covers activities such as washing and polishing of vehicles.

Specialised construction activities

This division covers specialized construction activities, focusing on specific tasks within building and civil engineering projects. These activities require specialized skills or equipment, such as foundation work, bricklaying, concrete work, roof covering, and steel structure erection. It also covers the installation of utilities like plumbing, heating, air-conditioning, electrical systems, and elevators, as well as insulation and sheet metal work.

Civil engineering

This division covers the general construction of civil engineering projects, including new work, repairs, additions, and alterations. It involves the erection of pre-fabricated structures and temporary constructions, with a focus on heavy projects such as motorways, bridges, tunnels, railways, and industrial facilities. The work can be done on own account or through contracts, and portions of the work may be subcontracted.

Manufacture of furniture, and other manufacturing, repair and installation of machinery and equipment

This division covers the manufacture of furniture and related products made from various materials, excluding stone, concrete, and ceramics, involving processes like cutting, moulding, and laminating. It also includes other manufacturing not covered in other classifications, including the manufacture of toys, games, jewellery, and medical and dental supplies. Additionally, it covers the specialised repair of goods produced in the manufacturing sector to restore them to working order, as well as routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
