Abstract:
Reflections on work-in-progress in “Accelerating Growth” project for Centre for Cross-Border Studies.
Key Questions being asked are:
• What is sectoral clustering and does it matter?
• What is the regional dimension to sectoral clustering?
• What is the regional dimension to innovation?
• How can we progress regioanl sectoral development?
• What can "our place" do in context of global sectoral trends?
• What are regional co-ordination and leadership aspects?

Biography of presenter:
Niall is an independent strategy advisor/mentor and development economist, and a Senior Research Associate with the Centre for Cross Border Studies (CCBS). He has worked in a range of roles in economic development, both in industrial and enterprise development and in education and training. He holds a Masters (Econ) from University of Galway.
