The gender pay gap is an issue of continuing concern and debate within policy and academic circles. There is a limited number of empirical studies however which have been concerned with understanding the driving factors to the gender pay gap in Northern Ireland.
In this seminar Dr Lisa Wilson presented the findings of a paper titled ‘How unequal? The adjusted gender pay gap in Northern Ireland’. In doing so, Dr. Wilson will examined and explained the nature of the gender pay gap in Northern Ireland and the extent to which different personal/family and job-related characteristics both drive and reduce differences in the earnings of males and females.
Subsequently, a discussion was open to the floor where the chairperson, Jacquie White, General Secretary, UTU presented questions to Dr. Wilson.
