NERI Submission by NERI Co-director, Dr. Tom McDonnell to the Select Committee on Budgetary Oversight: Chapters 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the Report of the Commission on Taxation and Welfare (COTW).
In Dr. Tom McDonnell's response he grouped Chapters 10, 11 and 12 together as these Chapters form the bulk of the welfare recommendations in the Commission on Taxation and Welfare (COTW) report. He concluded with some observations about Chapter 9. The NERI is broadly supportive of the recommendations and the overall analysis and strategy in Chapters 10, 11 and 12 but has some significant concerns about aspects of Chapter 9.
