Launch of Autumn QEO, 2018
24 October 2018, 3:50pm - 5:30pm
This year's Autumn edition fo the NERI Quarterly Economic Observer marks the 27th edition. The purpose of the Quarterly Economic Observer (QEO) is to provide regular, accessibly and timely commentary on the Irish Economy, North and South.
The main policy focus of this edition is productivity on the island of Ireland. In this release, the NERI focus on productivity performance by region and by sector in both jurisdictions. We note regional disparitites in performance and the presence of three effective economies on the island: a split economy in the Republic made up of an apparently world beating foreign owned sector and a more modestly performing domestic sector alongside a laggard Northern Ireland.
The launch will include a short presenation of the report's main findings followed by questions from the floor.
Copies of the QEO will be available.
